POSITION SUMMARY

This individual must be customer focused, work well with other people, and be organized; self-motivated and have good communication skills. He/she will oversee all areas of the restaurant during the shift including room service, lounge, dining room, and all other functions. The restaurant supervisor is to support the overall effort of the F&B manager.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY and DUTIES

Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager, this individual will be responsible for the following:

Assures al Holiday Inn F&B Brand Hallmarks are adhered to at all times: B4B, Room service right on time, morning matters and all other F&B food standards as sent down form IHG…
Assist the F&B manager to ensure compliance to the administrative requirements of the property by submitting in a timely manner all status change forms, employee appraisals, accident reports, payroll information, purchase orders, approved invoices, deposits, customer complaints, inventory counts, etc.
Maintain monthly inventories of all china, glass, flatware, linen, small wares, tables and chairs, and audio visual equipment. Proper inventory levels must be maintained in good working order and must be protected from loss or damage.
Communicate the overall objectives and results of the F&B effort with staff by inspecting their work and giving daily feedback for immediate improvements. What is inspected is respected!
Assures all F&B operational policies and procedures are known, understood, property interpreted, and followed by all F&B associates at all times.
Completely understand and follows the company’s progressive discipline policy.
Provide excellent quality food and beverage products at reasonable prices by continuously monitoring food and beverage costs and waste. Immediate action to be taken to maintain results within established financial targets and budgets.
Confirm that all bartenders and servers are trained in Serve-Safe prior to serving any food or alcohol products.
Assure that professional supervisory and human resource practices are followed throughout all departments by mandating attendance at training opportunities and by requiring adherence to established policy and procedures.
Assure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities by reviewing and confirming current job descriptions, objectives, and procedures a minimum of four times per year.
Hold weekly staff meeting to review operations, opportunities and forecasts.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the F&B manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education: At least 1-2 years of hands on experience in a direct supervisory role in the F&B industry or certification from a Hospitality Program in a tech or 2 year college.

Required Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Office; knowledge of basic principles and procedures of customer service, ability to communicate on a professional level with guests, customers and employees.



WORK ENVIRONMENT

Most of the work duties are carried out inside a building. However, the F&B manager may be subject to rapid and severe changes in temperature (from walk-in coolers, to the kitchen to meeting spaces, etc.).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

To perform the duties, an individual must be able to walk and/or stand for varying lengths of time and for long periods with repeated bending, stooping and reaching. An individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. An individual must also be able to see, speak, hear and communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing. Manual dexterity is necessary for the manipulation of paperwork, computer keyboards, audio-visual equipment, kitchen utensils, china glassware, etc.
